Everyone has personal heros. Oftentimes, those heros may change as you travel through your life. That has happened to me this very evening.
Richard Chamberlain is this “actor guy” whom I only remember from that great movie “SHOGUN” (I never watched his other stuff). That’s so appropriate, as I am about to visit Japan with my partner in October.
Tonight, Richard was on the Larry King show (on CNN). He was basically “coming out” (originally 3 months ago when he released his book about his life). But what was so compelling to me is that his story is SO similar to what I believe is the “common story” for most gay men (not the outrageous ones you see on TV).. Everything he said resonated with me and my own life.
He’s a normal (and talented) guy. He’s got an “above normal” life (hay, celebrity brings money). But he’s been in his relationship for a LONG LONG TIME.. and he’s HAPPY… Whether you are heterosexual or homosexual, if you missed this Larry King interview, you MISSED OUT on LIFE. Richard… YOU ROCK!!!!

I assume you didn’t tape this…

I don’t actually tape ANYTHING. I don’t own a VCR and the one in our living room is baroque.

Maybe this will inspire Ken to come out of the closet!

No man, we want him to stay in a dark closet for a VERY long time. Barred, locked, shut and nailed closed! Side, just cause someone got to much fruity in his fruity pebbles doesn’t mean nuttin’!

Your VCR is baroque? Have you tried wiggling the Handel? Get Bach to me on this one later.
I know, I know… That’s your line.
