Never give a gun to Ducks!

Saaaaatan! It’s ocurred to me (in the past, and again tonight) that sometimes Blogs can be BAD things.. They can be the tools of SATAN!

We often “spill our beans” in blogs. We say things that we (in retrospect) aren’t sure that our friends, family and clients shouldn’t see.

I know that when I post to MY blog, I tend to hold nothing back. After all, it IS supposed to be my stream of consciousness (or so the Zen Blogger would speak)..

But sometimes friends who read each others’ blogs can misconstrue the message! (or at least I’m afraid they do! lol)..

Like.. I read my best friend’s girlfriend’s blog (no, this is NOT Ferris Beuhler’s Day Off) for the latest dirt, but I also read another friend’s blog (and co-worker) and I wonder if he feels like I’m prying.. And I’m really just “interested” in what’s going on.

Do you think blogs can be used to convert people into devil-worshipping, donkey-raping shit-eaters?

Some days I just don’t know… We live in the age of communication, and I think that the Internet prevents people from communicating on some days..

  1. Hmm… I’ve never really thought of this, though maybe I should. I’m often surprised when someone in real life confronts me on something I posted on my blog. My sister often calls to inquire about something I’ve posted and it doesn’t occur to me at first that she read it online.

Then again, it’s not as though I post hateful drivel, either (at least, not recently… tee hee). Having to worry too much about what people read would take something from it, I think. I dunno…

Much like Q, I’m wondering if I’ve strayed off track. Blah blah blah… I’m a gas bag.

  2. Actually, I like blogging because I can share my opinion with the world and get feedback on it. Assuming that you talk to a bunch of strangers, you really can say anything you want, and assuming that a blog is a window into your mind, you can be as honest as you want. You can be as mean as you want. You are just words on a screen, no one knows you. It’s fun. And even if someone knows you, you can still say whatever you want, because it’s YOUR OWN DAMN BLOG. In theory.

In reality of course, I have stopped being as honest as I want to be/used to be, when I found out that the subjects of my rants are reading this. Don’t want to hurt no feelings, right? So at some point you realize that even it is YOUR OWN DAMN BLOG, you are never free to say everything you like, because you never know who reads it. In general though, everything I say on my blog, I am also comfortable to confront people IRL with, if necessary. So no worries about prying or something. I assume if a blogger doesn’t want anyone to know what he/she is saying, they wouldn’t blog to begin with.

Eh, what was the question again? Think I got a little carried off here…. LOL
